Setting Powder For Everyday Matte Finish | Makeup Review

I wanted to give you an update from my last post on my Lush Cosmetics review. I’ve been using Lush Cosmetics since May 5, 2016, yet there’s one thing that I couldn’t get over, and that was the amount of times that I needed to re-apply their emotional brilliance powder to keep my matte makeup look throughout the day.

Here’s what changed for me; my skin has become very oily and honestly I cannot pinpoint why it’s so oily these days. Lush’s translucent setting powder is supposed to help with combat the oils in the skin for that matte look. Yet after attending several events, it was a constant battle to keep re-applying the setting powder. You have to remember that it’s a loose powder and the re-applying process is not easy when you’re out and about. I cannot say enough how heart-broken I am, as I love lush and truly believe in their makeup products. And it’s not them it’s me, as I’m still trying to figure out a new skin care routine that will work with my combination skin.

So unfortunately I had to break up with some of Lush’s makeup products, but not all of them. For now I’ve replaced their translucent setting powder with the Becca Blotting Perfector Setting Powder…AND you guys, after wearing the setting powder for several hours, it’s still on! I can’t get over this.

If you’re curious about the differences in price points here you go:

If you have an oily-combo skin like I do, then I definitely recommend you give this a try. I’ve been so happy about this new find! Especially, since I only have to reapply once to keep my makeup matte for the rest of the night…score! 🙂
